what do you think?

why tame your daughter at home ,why not let her explore her talents and ability, instead of keeping her at home doing nothing apart from studying.
Most parents today, tend to protect their daughter(s) and in the same way, they are making that girl a "disadvantaged girl child'.
most times, parents think restricting their daughter(s)  from the outside world is the best way to protect their daughter, either from getting bad, raped is the best way to make a good and best daughter.
But the question is
           Will you follow her everywhere,everyday?
and we all know the sincere answer is NO.
And for how long are you going to keep her within your roof?
it high time parents give their daughters chances to explore, socialize and be informed, participate and develop her potentials,if we keep over protecting  our daughters, they might end up not fulfilling their missions in this life.
we have so many women who really helped and affected  our society positively today, and they were able to do this because they were given environment that encourages their potentials and abilities.
Parents lets help encourage and support our daughter(s)  today.
It not all about given them everything they want,we can also help bring out the potentials in them ,encourage her talent  and put more concern more than just paying attention in just her material needs.

Stephanie Louise Kwolek (July 31, 1923 – June 18, 2014) was an American chemist, whose career at the DuPont company covered over forty years.[1] She is best known for inventing the first of a family of synthetic fibers of exceptional strength and stiffness: poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide—better known as Kevlar.[2][3] For her discovery, Kwolek was awarded the DuPont company's Lavoisier Medal for outstanding technical achievement. As of June 2014, she was the only female employee to have received that honor.[4] In 1995 she became the fourth woman to be added to the National Inventors Hall of Fame.[5] Kwolek won numerous awards for her work in polymer chemistry, including the National Medal of Technology and the Perkin Medal.[6]

what is kelvar?
Kevlar® is a material formed by combining para-phenylenediamine and terephthaloyl chloride. Aromatic polyamide (aramid) threads are the result. They are further refined, by dissolving the threads and spinning them into regular fibres. When woven, Kevlar® forms a strong and flexible material. If layers of the woven Kevlar® are combined with layers of resin, the resulting ‘rigid’ material is light and has twenty times the strength of steel. It is also superior to specialist metal alloys. However, Kevlar® is expensive due to the demands of the manufacturing process and the need for specialist equipment.

Woman @ 90, wins national care giver award

Mary Hartsock

Ninety-year-old Mary Hartsock is a special woman who still works and takes care of other senior citizens.
Now, she’s won National Caretaker of the Year for Right at Home, the company she works for. And one of her clients says, it couldn’t go to a more beautiful lady.
Lloyd Diggs’ is an 89-year old Navy Veteran. He has a hard time getting around these days, with some pain in his legs, back, and side, and he needs help cleaning up around the house, as well as getting medication. So through the VA, he found Right at Home, an in-home care and assistance company, which sends someone out during the week to help Diggs with day-to-day things. And they sent Mary to see Diggs’ twice a week. But Mary is older than her client. “I’m in good hands of a lovely person. Like I said, I couldn’t want anything better,” Diggs said.
At 90, Mary has been named Caretaker of the Year for the entire company, nationwide. She beat out 15,000  other caretakers. Something she calls a huge honor. And her boss couldn’t be more proud.
“I’m so pleased for Mary and really honored for this distinction, and I hope she’ll be around with us for many years to come,” said Carole Luber, Owner of Right at Home in Frederick. They flew Mary out to Omaha for five days, put her up in a hotel suite and attended an awards banquet. She was like a celebrity, even making a speech on stage in front of almost 900 people, where she said her “thank you’s.”
A mother with one son, two grandsons and two great-grandsons, Mary has no desire to slow down or retire. She says she doesn’t think it’s healthy to just sit at home and watch TV all day, but she does like to watch sports occasionally – especially NASCAR – on the weekends. Tony Stewart is her favorite driver. Mary’s dedication to caregiving extends to volunteer work with the Alzheimer’s Association and AMVETS, an organization that assists military veterans. Alzheimer’s is a cause close to her heart, partly because her father and brother both died of the disease.

 Thanks to MARY ANDERSON

If it wasn't for a woman named Mary Anderson,we wouldn't have had a windshield wiper .
What a lot of people don't know is that windshield wipers were invented by a woman. Inventor Mary Anderson received a patent for her car-window cleaning device in 1903.
Anderson's invention came about during a trip to New York City when the Alabama-born inventor noticed that streetcar drivers had to open the windows of their cars when it rained in order to see. As a solution, Anderson invented a swinging arm device with a rubber blade that was operated by the driver from within the vehicle using a lever.
Many people were initially leery of Anderson's windshield wiper invention, thinking it would distract drivers, but by 1916 windshield wipers were standard on most vehicles. It was also a woman inventor who first patented the automatic windshield wiper in 1917 (Charlotte Bridgwood's "Storm Windshield Cleaner").

The Role of Women in our Societyby Mohan Shenoy

Physiologically women are not equal to men. Psychologically too they are different. Both men and women
behave differently in life in many ways. There is not much difference between women and men in the usual activities
like eating, drinking, working, sleeping, resting and speaking. But women have physical and physiological differences
based on their functions like child-bearing and child-rearing. The genital organs of men and women are structured
based on their functions in reproductive objectives. No one can dispute the fact that women and men react differently
when it comes to taking care of their children.
On the other hand the behaviour of people of either sex depends upon how she or he is brought up. Both
woman and man do what they have learnt during their upbringing as far as their reactions to various situations in their
life. If a physiological male baby is brought up as a female baby right from the time of birth, then he might dress like a
woman, think like a woman and talk like a woman. He might work like a woman and develop all qualities of a woman
except that he will realize by the age of 14 or 15 or even earlier that he can not bear children. He will compare himself
with the other people around him. He will compare his body with the body of his companions. Therefore it is not
possible to equate women with men in all spheres of life.
However, traditions do not die easily. The world has treated women differently in terms of her rights and
dues as compared to the men. Men have dominated the world and put the women in a separate perspective. If a
woman is taught the semantics of dominating over men then it is possible for her to reverse the trends and traditions.
Women only have to assert their abilities to perform all functions required of a dominant section of a society.
Therefore it depends upon the methods and manners of upbringing and learning process for women to shed their
traditional profiles. This is possible if each household takes up this task of bringing up each girl child in exactly the
same way as a boy child. Since as I said before, there is no difference between a man and a woman in the usual
activities like eating, drinking, working, sleeping, resting, speaking etc.. If a girl child is made to dress like a boy, work
like a boy, talk like a boy and grow like a bo
In the twenty-first century there is going to be a trend towards single-child families. A mother will restrict
to one single child to bear and bring up. A father will realize that this is the best thing to do viz. restrict to one single
child to bear and bring up in his life time.
This single child will have to provide all the life qualities that are available in the world for itself as well as
to people with whom it will have relations, like the parents, cousins, in-laws etc., regardless whether it is a boy or a girl.
The society will have to prepare the single child in the family and society to play its roles and function as an all-in-one
provider person (APP). The functions of the reproductive objectives will have to continue without compromising on the
role of the provider person. The mothers will have to stop treating their girl child in the same manner as their mothers
did to them when they were growing up.
How will a mother who has grown up in a male dominated world know how to bring up her girl child in the
new family order? How will she gear up to the mighty task of negating the traditions and age-old practices of bringing
up girl children to play the role exclusively as a woman?  The mother will have to work constantly towards this objective
and this goal by making suitable changes in her thinking and practice of the methods and manners of rearing the girl
child into an adult all-in-one provider person (APP). It is not right to think of this APP girl child as a replacement for a
boy in the family.
We do not want a girl-child to grow like a boy child. We only want a girl child to do all tasks that are
required of a single-child in any family. Then, she has to function also as a woman, wife, and mother to fulfill her role
as a woman member of the society. A single girl child need not lose her grace of a woman, nor her properties that
fulfill her role as a female partner in courtship, romance and as a prospective bride. When she gets married she
should not lose her membership and her obligations in her parents' household. This change in the culture of parents
in a single-child family is a necessity as well as the preferred way to stabilize the society for development and progress
in the new world older. This new culture has already begun to take foothold in our society across the country.
jean-clad teenager is an example of this new culture.  A working mother is another example of this culture if she
happens to have one single girl child and if she is bringing her up as an APP girl child.
y in each household then it is possible for a mother and a father to see
their girl child grow to be as good or better than a boy child. It will not make any difference for the parents if their
offspring is male or female, if each is brought up similarly as he or she grows up disregarding its gender.

Nigerian singer offers her virginity to Boko Haram in exchange for kidnapped schoolgirls.

A Nigerian pop singer and peace ambassador has sent shock waves across social media by offering her virginity to Islamic militants in exchange for the return of hundreds of kidknapped schoolgirls.
Adokiye, 23, made the proposal to Boko Haram members to help free the 276 Nigerian girls which they snatched in April from the largely Christian north-eastern town of Chibok.
The singer and actress from the country's Imo State told Nigerian newspaper Vanguard: 'This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about? Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them.
'It is just unfair. They are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange.'
The UN Ambassador of Peace also added: 'They are between 12 and 15 year old girls for Christ sake. I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents.'

Ali Baba Speaks On The importance Of Girl Child Education
Click for Full Image Size

As many Nigerian celebrities are airing their views on the recent happenings in the country, Comedian Ali Baba also known as the godfather of comedy has recently shared his own opinions regarding the issue of girl child education in relation to the educational qualifications of the First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan.

In an interview with Hip TV, Ali Baba touched a couple of controversial issues in the country which have been topics of debates for years, including the recent case of mass the abduction of the secondary school girls in Chibok, Borno state by members of Boko haram.

According to the comedian, the basic education of the girl child was very important and could avert a lot of things being seen as problem just like in the case of Patience Jonathan.

Ali Baba also spoke of the importance of educating the girl child, religious intolerance in parts of Nigeria, recurrent terrorist attacks and the First Lady of Nigeria.

EDUCATING A GIRL  CHILD
Our lack of understanding about the reasons why we should educate the girl child is rooted in a deep gender bias that has kept Africa from achieving lasting development over the centuries. This faulty ideology has brought setback to the African continent in more ways than we can possibly imagine. It has greatly affected how we perceive, treat and value the girl child. Not educating the girl child reduces her worth and also our collective worth as a people. One of the many repercussions of these false ideologies is that despite these negative perceptions society still demands so much from women. I consider that to be sad and deeply unfair!
Seeing the female as ‘less important’ has got to stop! It is amazing when you realize how comfortably we see the female as less important than the male, and use these falsities to perpetuate a deep-rooted inequality and a lack of education for the girl child.
Educating the girl child ensures that they are more empowered to play active roles in social and economic development. We are
African nations need to start encouraging the girl child to embrace education by making it free or at least significantly cheaper so the gap between the education of girls and boys can be closed. In fact, incentives like providing food stamps or free lunch for female school children could be a great way to increase the number of girls who attend school. If the government fulfils its role parents and guardians who still stop their girls attending school will be reprimanded.
The point is that refusing to educate the girl child is refusing to embrace national development. It must be treated as such! Other barriers should also be considered, in Nigeria for instance, many girls are likely not to attend school for reasons such as unavailability of toilet facilities. It is important that governments aim to address all of these issues and make it simple and comfortable for girls to attend school quick to talk about crime against humanity and then point our accusing fingers in any direction that pleases us; but the reality is that it’s also a crime against humanity deprive the girl child of  an education.

Inappropriate: Arthur Morgan III winked and grinned to cameras as he was led out of court on Thursday. what do we call this?
why are girls never valued?

Dad winks for cameras after jury finds him guilty of murdering 2-year-old daughter by throwing her into creek strapped into car seat.

A New Jersey dad grinned and winked in court on Thursday after being found guilty of murdering his 2-year-old daughter by throwing her into a creek, locked into her car seat.
Jurors found Arthur Morgan III guilty of killing Tierra Morgan-Glover, whose body was pulled from a creek in a park near the Jersey shore in November 2011. They also found him guilty of child endangerment and interference with custody.
Because the jurors determined that Morgan's actions were 'knowing or purposeful,' the 29-year-old is likely to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A man who tossed his 2-year-old daughter into a creek while she was still strapped into her car seat was convicted Thursday of her murder and smirked as he was led out of court in handcuffs to spend what will probably be the rest of his life behind bars.
Jurors found Arthur Morgan III guilty of killing Tierra Morgan-Glover, whose body was pulled from a creek in a park near the Jersey shore in November 2011. They also found him guilty of child endangerment and interference with custody.
Prosecutors had said he killed Tierra to get back at her mother for breaking off their engagement. They said he weighed down her pink car seat with a tire jack to ensure it would sink. Her body was pulled from a creek in Wall Township, about 20 miles from her Lakehurst home, with one tiny black and purple sneaker sticking out of the water.
The girl’s relatives gasped when Morgan smirked broadly as he was led out of the courtroom after his conviction, his hands and feet shackled. Immediately after leaving the courtroom, several of them collapsed into sobs, with one woman wailing, “Oh, God!”

Police told the Chronicle that they received a frantic 911 call around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday from a woman who was screaming that her baby was dead. When officers arrived at the residence, the woman was outside. She told police that two of her children were dead.
Inside the house, however, officers found three bodies. Police said they removed multiple handguns and rifles from the scene and are conducting ballistics tests to determine which ones were used in the killings.
year-old sister, Rebecca Mughal.
The three bodies were in separate rooms and that a pistol was found next to the body of eldest son Faheem.
Stafford Police Department spokesperson Lt. James Leedom told the Chronicle that the scene was in some disarray and that whatever sparked the violence is still unclear.
“It is apparently a murder-suicide type of dispute,” Leedom said, explaining that the situation is under “active investigation” and that forensics experts are treating the house as a crime scene and gathering evidence.
The police department has neither interviewed the victims’ parents nor their eldest daughter, who is in her mid-20s and was attending class at Houston Community College when the violence took place.
NOW A WIFE AND A  FUTURE MOTHER  HAS BEEN LOST THROUGH THIS.
LET TRY ALL OUR POSSIBLE BEST TO STOP WHATSOEVER CAN TAKE THE LIFE OF ANY GIRL CHILD.
