Tosin Oyelami foundation, Person Of The day

I breathe art and have a passion for producing the highest quality work for my clients.

She grew up on an Arabian horse farm in Belews Creek, North Carolina. At a very young age she began drawing, and when introduced to oil paint at age 10, fell in love with painting and the art of making art. She has since continued painting as both a lifelong passion and a professional career. Cheryl Ann looks for beauty in everything she does. Traditional in approach yet extremely personal in application, her figure studies, portraits, landscapes and body paintings are effused with emotion and grace, while the love of her work is evident in every piece and in every brushstroke. She strives to capture the true essence of her subject matter with the reflective soul of the colors of her palette.

she is no other person than CHERYL ANN LIPSTREU

HORRIBLE,,woman get beaten up by husband over piece of fish

For taking a piece of fish from the cooking pot, 34 year old Fatima Bankole (pictured above) said she got the beating of her life from her husband, Alhaji Kamoru Bankole, on Wednesday July 16th and now has 26 stitches on her face as a result of the brutal assault.

Narrating what led to the attack, Fatima, who is one of three wives, said as wives of the Alhaji, they had a roaster for cooking. She said on the day any of them cooked, they would first dish for their husband, then the children before serving themselves. Continue reading after the cut...

She said on the day of the attack, the last wife had finished her cooking and served their husband and the children. She, Fatima, then went for her own meal but as soon as the third wife saw her food, she immediately went to report to their husband that Fatimah had taken the largest chunk of fish in the pot. Continue...

Not listening to her explanation that she only took pieces of fish scattered in the pot, their husband descended on her with punches to her face. She said she bled for hours and was thereafter locked up in a room for three days before she found a way of escape.

She said her husband had physically assaulted her several times in the past and even gave an account of a previous attack where her husband pulled her hair until it hurt so bad it gave her head injuries. After her escape, Fatimah was assisted to the hospital by her neighbors. Her husband has since been arrested after a petition by a Women Arise civil group in Lagos. He is expected to be in court next week.

Glasgow 2014: Gold medalist Chika Amalaha fails drugs test

Nigerian gold medallist Chika Amalaha has been provisionally suspended from the Commonwealth Games for failing a drugs test.
The 16-year-old won weightlifting gold with a combined total of 196kg in the women's 53kg category
Her 'A' sample was found to contain amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide, which are both prohibited as diuretics and masking agents.
Amalaha will have a 'B' sample tested on Wednesday.
The teenager won gold last Friday, as Dika Toua took silver to secure Papua New Guinea's first medal of Glasgow 2014, with India's Santoshi Matsa winning bronze.
Amalaha is the first athlete to fail a test at the Games, but welsh 400m hurdler rhys Williams  and  800m  runner Gareth warburton  both missed the competition after being charged with anti-doping rule violations.
Both athletes deny knowingly taking any banned substance.

Dedicated to the abducted chibok girls
CRY OF A CHIBOK GIRL
A deranged scream
A crazed nightmare
Amongst the creepy willow trees
Mad torture in hell
Scorched by the living demons
Paraded as religious ideologues
Aimed at destroying mankind
Fighting a lost cause
I’d rather face
electrocution
I’d rather have my innards gored out
I’d rather be tortured senseless than be forcefully penetrated by these grotesque animals
Their laughter boomed in the dark as virgin blood was spilled
She whimpers, she moans, she screams, she weeps, pleading
Another monster shoved his ugly twisted manhood into her mouth amidst ricocheting laughter
She was just 15, and she was my friend
We used to laugh, jeer and eat together in class
I couldn’t listen, I shut my ears
I couldn’t bear it, I just couldn’t
I shivered terribly in the cold; the men had taken our clothes
I shivered In cold fear because it was my turn
No, I wasn’t going to let them
My stomach rumbled, we haven’t been fed for days
I wanted to cry but I was too tired
I tried not to think of the horror
They were so frightful, these men
They said we were all abominations
They said our parents were traitors
They called us criminals, animals, whores
And to that effect we needed to be cleansed and purged
They said no one cared if we lived or died
I didn’t believe that
I thought of my mother and younger sister
They would hurt so much
I felt the cold breeze against my skin
It was time
I heard my friend lie beside me crying, sobbing silently
“Adijatu” I whispered

 she didn’t reply
I heard their footsteps edging closer to where I laid
I knew it was time
I knew it was my turn
I eased up
“goodbye” I mouthed to my weeping friend
I began to run; I knew they would shoot at me
Well, that was the plan
I heard voices,

 footsteps.
No one chased after me
We have been warned about the penalty of ever trying to escape
I heard the whooshing sound of the arrow and it forcefully tore through my ribs
I felt the ripping pain as I fell to the ground blood oozing out
My sight became blurred
Yes, I was a criminal
And my crime?, being a Nigerian girl, being a Chibok girl
My chest felt heavy, my head began to spin
The blur merged to become a thick black fog
And the last thing I saw was my mom sitting on a wooden chair praying to the moon to bring me home.

Seems they've been forgotten, just a timely reminder

#BRING BACK OUR GIRLS

Dedicated to all the aborted children
A LETTER FROM AN ABORTED CHILD
Dear Mum
I have decided to talk to you, to let you
know my feelings. I want to know why you
did it. My story is short. I have stayed
inside you for only three months. I was
very comfortable and warm. I felt
really protected. I know you are a special
person because I ate the food you ate. I
longed for the day I would see your face.
Nine months was a long time to wait, but
I was determined to wait. I had to be
patient. One day I heard you converse
with a man
about me, and at some stage you
quarreled. The man then offered you
some money to get rid of
me. I was happy and prayed that this
meant that I would at least see you, the
only person
that I knew in the world: I was wrong. I
had almost forgotten the issues until I
felt something
sharp pierce my tiny ear. I jerked silently
and in pain, and asked you to protect
me. Seconds later the object came,
fiercer than
before. My tiny was cut up, starting from
the ears then
arms and legs. It was an agonizing
experience, my head was then cut off
and I died.
It took me a whole hour to die, a whole
hour for an innocent three months human
being to be
murdered. I remember the whole
incidence vividly and I keep asking myself,
what I did to deserve
that cruel death? Why me? Why did you
do it to me? And why was I not given a
chance to live? I know you are having a
lot of nightmares. You remain guilty for
the beastly act. Please explain to your
God why you committed the
heinous act.
Personally I have forgiven you
though I never lived to see your face. My
journey
back to my creator was safe and I
arrived safely. I was given a red carpet
welcome by an angel. I
am infact,without bitterness.
I still love you mum.

Parents of MH17 passenger Fatima Dyczynski say their daughter is not dead, call for space scientists to probe crash

GEORGE and Angela Dyczynski saw much at the MH17 crash site but nothing that diminished their belief their daughter, Fatima, somehow survived. The Perth-based parents arrived back in the Netherlands on Tuesday after a five-day trip during which they reached the crash site in rebel-controlled eastern Ukraine.
There was no suggestion the couple’s brilliant 25-year-old daughter might not be able to make it to Toronto in late September. Indeed, Ms Dyczynski later threatened to sue anyone who suggested  without evidence that Fatima was dead.
The professionals want Fatima’s colleagues from the space science community to become involved in the crash investigation. They want the best of the best on the case.
Search for answers ... Angela and George Dyczynski defied all obstacles to visit the MH17The fact the Dyczynskis do is down to a combination of faith and science.
“There is a small possibility that something still survived,” Fatima’s father said.
“The people of Donetsk were first at the crash site and if somebody survived maybe they have taken them.” The couple plan to stay in Amsterdam for two or three days and then likely head home to Australia.
They’ve received support from back home and from Foreign Minister Julie Bishop who wrote to them after the crash.
In return, the Dyczynskis left Ms Bishop, who’s currently in Kiev, one of four sunflowers they took from the crash site.
The remaining three flowers are destined for the Netherland’s Princess Beatrix and Fatima’s two grandmothers.

If I ever have a child, I wish it’s a girl, says Salman Khan

Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan, who is busy shooting for his film ‘Jai Ho’, has managed to take out time to create awareness of the ‘Girl Child, Women Empowerment’ programme, and says if he ever has a child, he wishes it should be a girl.

"If I ever have a child.. Insh`allah I will... I wish its a girl. I want a girl child," Salman said at the press conference of the social cause.

Salman asks how can you kill the child even before its birth.

"How can you kill a child even before its birth... It’s not about awareness, its about your mentality. If you kill the girl child, eventually there will be no mothers and sisters and guys will have no women to marry. Women play a huge role in our lives."

The actor further revealed he is glad that he has two sisters who are taking care of his parents better than any of them.

"Women are ruling today... how can they be a burden. In my family I have two sisters and they takes care of my parents more than any of us. I am glad I have two sisters."

Girls should no longer be considered a burden: Priyanka

Girls should no longer be considered a burden: PriyankaTampa Bay (US): Actress Priyanka Chopra feels that the mindset of people in India needs to change and they should no longer think of a girl as a burden.

Priyanka was part of a session titled -- `Girl Rising Project` on the third day of IIFA awards here, where noted actress Shabana Azmi was also present.

"I hear stories like a girl is not given education because she is going to go to another family (marriage). A boy is educated because he will bring income to the family. It is horrible. I feel the mindset of people need to change in India that a girl child is not a burden," Priyanka said.

"I am lucky that I had the opportunity to choose and do what I want to do. We all should support the future of a girl," she added.
